Triplets take Podium in Academics

A week or so ago it was reported here that Betsy, Jenny and Kristen Biernat, triplets, ranked 1, 2, and 3 in this year’s graduating class.

The Express-Times (read it here) and the Morning Call (read it here) both have articles on the girls’ incredible accomplishment.

On Memorial Day, I saw the girls’ parents and had a chance to chat with them for a few minutes. Their father volunteered with me a few years ago in one local organization and he remains active in a few others. He told me the girls were each going to a different college and at that time they were anxiously awaiting the parade, which was the last time their four daughters would all be performing in the band together (their youngest is in 9th grade).

When we were working together, the girls were in 9th grade and I remember the amazement their father had when he learned they were top three in their class at the academic banquet. They apparently never relinquished their spots, though I don’t know if the order ever changed.

Best wishes to all the girls and congratulations on what is an incredible accomplishment!
