Councilman Mike Davis requested to open the April Council meeting with a resolution supporting "Nazareth...2030" a Nazareth Area Multimunicipal Comprehensive Plan prepared for the Nazareth Area Council of Governments by the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission (read the plan here).
Councilman Davis made the request in order for Nazareth Borough to be the first municipality to approve the plan. The motion was seconded by Councilman Conrad Bowers and approved unanimously.
Approval of the plan does not require the Borough to do anything until the municipalities whom agree to adopt the plan (there are 10 considering it) decide to implement it. At which point they will need to enter into an agreement outlining the terms of implementation. Once they adopt the municipal agreements they will be bound by those terms.
