Former Principal Swigart to Assume Position of Asst. Superintendent

Nazareth High School Principal will move into the newly created position of Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Education Support Services for the Nazareth Area School District.

Her pending move was noted in this post.

According to the Board Meeting Minutes (read them here) the position is for a four year term and pays $103,275.00.

This is an outrage. I can't believe no one else is upset about this.

First of all, she wasn't even a good principal. She had an offer to take an administrative position in BASD and Lesky talked her out of it. He should have let her go. My guess is this is part of the deal that was struck when trying to retain her.

She is replacing a Buildings & Grounds person who essentially made half the salary she is now commanding. Oh yeah, they listed a bunch of other things she is going to be doing. Guess what taxpayers ... those jobs were already being performed by someone else in the organization (JZ).

Coming a year after moving the incompetent MS principal to central admin because she had no interpersonal skills whatsoever this is definitely the peter principle at work here.

In a hierarchically structured administration, people tend to be promoted up to their "level of incompetence".

I guess in this case, however, we should call it THE PETER PRINCIPAL.
