The Nazareth Area School Board Meeting on Monday, June 26, 2006 included quite a few items often related to end of year/new year assignments and the 22 page agenda outlined all every one of them.
You can read the entire document here.
The significant personnel changes were the hiring of principals for Shafer Elementary and the High School. Alan Davis, the vice principal at the High School was promoted to Principal, while William Mudluck was hired for the Shafer position.
You can read the Express-Times article on the hirings here.
Of interest to me at least was the need to refinish the auditorium floor and purchase a floor covering for nearly $20,000.00. It doesn't seem that the floor should be in need of refinishing so soon.
Also of interest was the fact that the football coach is paid the same as the athletic director and both are less than the wrestling coach. I do know that a formula is used that takes into account years experience, so clearly in the case of the wrestling coach and football coach. Coach Crowell has many more years under his belt than Coach Madson, but it would seem the AD, whose position is everyday throughout the year, should be paid more than any individual single season coach.
