I was reading the September 4, 2006 issue of Brandweek and Marco Andretti was co-featured along with Brad Coleman in the story, "Teen Racing Phenoms On Marketing Fast Track" by Barry Janoff.
The article is apparently not available on line. In it the obvious need for drivers to secure sponsorship is addressed and Marco comments, "If I ever think of myself as a celebrity, there are a lot of people who can knock me off that pedestal."
In the article Brad Coleman, a Busch and ARCA driver is also discussed.
It is a shame that open wheel racing has fallen off the public radar to such an extent that Marco, who is in an elite series, won a race in his rookie season, and finished 2nd in his first attempt to win the Indy 500 is grouped together with any other teen.
Of course this same publication not too long ago identified Danica Patrick as a Nascar driver.
All that not withstanding, it was nice to see Marco recognized in a publication read mostly by non-racing fans and his comments were beyond his years.
