Morning Call reports on the start of negotiations

The Morning Call had a report posted this evening (read it here) essentially noting that the parties arrived for the contract talks just before 5:00 p.m.

As of 8:30 p.m. there was no new post on the Districts' web site.

Let's hope Arlene Martinez is able to stay awake long enough to report good news this evening.

I just cruised by the district offices at 11 p.m. and not much to report. Saw the two reporters waiting patiently in the hallway and did see Mr. Ifkowitz come out for a quick drink at the water fountain.

They've been at it for six hours so I guess they've moved away from the bitterness stage and are at least talking. Could the long session be a good sign? Are the working towards hammering something out?

Thanks for letting us know. There wasn't a whole lot online last night or this morning, though I do appreciate the Morning Call providing two reports, one early evening the other sometime after midnight.

Unfortunately, there was nothing this morning. Maybe they're still going.

Be sure to get an extra sip or two this morning and have a great weekend (regardless of what happens with the strike)!
