At the Patch

On Sunday we decided to take the kids to the pumpkin patch and the weather was perfect.

We went to Faust Family Produce on route 191 between Newburg and Nazareth. They offer mums, fresh produce, and lots of pumpkins!

If you go bring your camera as there are cut-outs for the kids (or adults) to have their picture taken in both at the stand and in the patch. A hayride is available to the patch.

It is not only nearby, but the pumpkins ranged in size from manageable for a three year old to too big for her daddy to carry.

Best of all, the grandparents were able to come along and the price is right - you pay for what you buy. The photos (again bring your own camera) and hay ride are free. We had four adults, two childrens and went home with three pumpkins, eight gourds and a few ears of corn to make popcorn out of for less than $20.00.

Taking the hayride I was struck by how rural it felt. Despite being between routes 191 and 946 when you look north toward Nazareth you mostly see fields, tree lines, and tree covered hills (of course the picture I took to the left, was to the south and the homes nearby are in the background, but they preceded the produce stand I believe). You'd never know there was significant development throughout the township or region and that alone was a pleasant surprise.

All in all the trip to the patch was great. We even learned a little about growing pumpkins and the role bees play making it educational as well as fun. I believe this is the third year we've brought the girls here and I really can't see a reason to even consider going elsewhere. Thanks to everyone at Faust Family Produce for making the extra effort to make our trip so enjoyable.
