Help Shape Nazareth's Main Street

If you are interested in shaping the heart of Nazareth - the business district, make a point of attending the next Main Street Initiative Meeting on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Nazareth YMCA.

The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will last one hour.

The purpose of this meeting is to form committees and determine a chart of work to be accomplished.

The Main Street Program is a state program that encourages the development of business districts to ensure vibrant communities. The idea is to create a non-profit organization that will work with the local government and local organizations to promote the community as a whole, lend resources to other local organizations, and serve as a "clearinghouse" to help local organizations coordinate their events so they don't conflict with one another, but instead work to help one another.

How this is done and to what extent will be the task of the committees so please come out and offer your insight and suggestions.

If you have any questions or comments about this initiative post them here or email me at editor@newsovercoffee.com

Now that we have successfully kept the police and government center in town, this is the next most important issue to affect Nazareth.
The success of this program will insure a bright future for our community for many years to come.

I strongly urge that anyone that has stepped forward in the last few months to insure the success of our community should continue their work and volunteer for this important committee. I can speak from personal experience that you will be rewarded with a sense of pride that can't be bought!
