NAEA Web site now Live

Thanks to an anonymous post that was made I was alerted to the fact that the NAEA web site is now live.

You can visit the site at: http://www.nazteacher.org/index.html

There is little new here by way of information or insight. The handout from the meeting the other night has been incorporated into a page and there is a calendar of events. Several of pages are "under construction".

Still no mention of the specific contract that they would like to see - how disappointing! It is also disappointing that they continue to cite administrative salaries, yet there are no actual positions listed in their chart so the information is unverifiable. They should discontinue these propoganda tactics and post their version of what the contract and benefits should be. To do otherwise is to continue to generate more heat than light.

I agree with the previous comment. The teachers’ Union is not telling the public exactly what they want in these contract negotiations.

I like many others in the area, are beginning to wonder if the teachers themselves know what they want.

A better questions is do the teachers, who are being represented by their Union really know what is being ask for on their behalf?

This Union needs to start being clear to the public, or they will lose all support and credibility.

I hate to echo the above, but I have the same feeling.

The NAEA has repeatedly stated that their healthcare coverage is the "worst in PA". The Board has requested that the NAEA provide them with alternative HC plans provided to surrounding districts so they can compare, but so far they have not.

The $$ numbers they put up on their website are not a true apples/apples comparison because they are comparing their "old" salary to future district salaries.

When you negotiate from a position of weakness, you do not necessarily want your position spelled out. You want to try and obfuscate the facts and get public sentiment on your side. That's what I see going on now from the NAEA.

Tell us what you want!! If the public knows EXACTLY what you want perhaps they'd be more sympathetic. Somehow I doubt you really want us to know.
