JD Malone writes about the NASD meeting (read it here), specifically related to the revenue increase and upcoming Budget Hearing on Wednesday. The details of the meeting from Brad Moulton's notes are here.
The article notes, "...an additional $1.2 million of revenue next year. Lesky said the windfall comes through a more aggressive assessment approach by the county."
And: " Lesky recommended spending $529,895 and placing $732,172 in the capital reserve fund for future expenses. We do know we will have increased expenditures in the next few years, Lesky said. (The $732,172) is almost a mill and may help us balance the budget in the future."
Finally, it was interesting that the Meeting on Wednesday, as opposed to being purely information was noted as, "Lesky and board President Don Keller said the meeting is for discussion purposes but the board could take action if needed."
This means that budget votes could be made by the Board on Wednesday - worth attending if you can.
