Kurt Vonnegut passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the age of 84 in New York City. The well-known author, as it turns out, had a local connection to Nazareth, PA.
His book, Slaughterhouse-Five, (read about it here) regarded as one of the best in American literature, opens with Vonnegut as author meeting with his WWII friend Bernard O'Hare, whose wife, Mary, was none too happy with the idea of a novel about the war.
I Googled "Vonnegut" and nearly four million results appeared in 0.26 seconds.
The official Vonnegut website had this.
The Wikipedia entry didn't mention Nazareth, nor O'Hare (read it here), but the Morning Call had this article, which lead me to the source...
...Lehigh Valley Ramblings' Bernie O'Hare. This, you have to read.
