L. Nazareth Warehouse Bonanza Update

Thanks to Joe Greene and the Lower Nazareth Citizens forum (visit the site here) for so closely watching the building bonanza of warehouse distribution centers in Lower Nazareth Township.

I was forwarded a note with an update on the issue - here are the highlights (I was going to edit and started, but there really wasn't anything to cut out):

The June 13, 2007 regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Supervisors has a time & location change. To accommodate the conditional use hearing for Industrial Development International (based in Atlanta) planned set of three warehouse distribution centers on a 91-acre lot in the southeast corner of the township, between the Route 33 exits for Route 248 and Hecktown Road.

The Board of Supervisors meeting will be held at the Nazareth Area Middle School and will begin at 6:00pm; followed by the conditional use hearing which will not start before 7:00pm.

Past articles from Morning Call and Express Times articles are available here under the News Articles tab.

This project adds 1.3 million square ft. of warehouse space to join several other warehouses in the township, including the Prologis development, near Routes 248 and 33, along with the three on Hanoverville Road, on the west end of the township.

But wait, there's more. Logisticenter's Conditional Use was approved, these are the new warehouses to be constructed on the north side of Hanoverville Rd. east of the current three warehouses.

And last but not least don't forget the three huge, traffic generating warehouses Greenfield Development has pending west of Dutch Springs. These are going to add thousands more vehicle trips per day! They are proceeding! Some of the history and back up data is available at http://www.lowernazareth.org/html/archived_od.html

You might also want to read some of the old news articles to refresh your memory on this nightmare of a project, they are available at: http://www.lowernazareth.org/html/old_news.html

So much for the pastoral nature of Lower Nazareth Township.

Again thanks to Joe and the residents who help him keep everyone informed of the issues in Lower Nazareth Township.
