The Morning Call's continuing story on the family in Lower Nazareth this week delves into the use of electronic gadgets. While I thought I had a fair number, my own paled in comparison the list provided by this family.
Read about it here.
I don't know to what lengths we each should try to 'be green' or 'reduce our carbon footprint', but it does seem that if we each did a little we could make a big difference. On the other hand, with temperatures near 90 yesterday, I was putting in air conditioners and wondering how much the electric bill was going to jump. Can't see the family sacrificing comfort when it is readily available.
Which got me to thinking, if there is an economic incentive, people will most likely pursue it. Look at gas, at over $3.00 per gallon, I have to admit, I'm glad to be filling up a 4-cylinder right now at nearly 30 miles per gallon, compared to our older car (now totaled thanks to a careless driver) that got something closer to 20.
What that incentive could or would be, I don't know, but it seems like the surest bet on accomplishing 'green goals'.
