Cell Tower at Andrew S. Leh Stadium

An article in the Morning Call (read it here) notes that Upper Nazareth has moved its hearing on a proposed Cell Phone Tower by T-Mobile that would be erected at Andrew S. Leh Stadium.

Of interest is the fact that this didn't seem to be noted at School Board meetings based on media reports including those from Brad on this site.

T-Mobile will replace a light post and increase its height by 20 feet for the tower.

According to the article: "The hearing will be at 7 p.m. June 27 in the municipal building."

I haven't seen anything about this at any of the board meetings. I would like to see the details of the arrangement (in addition to the design - 20 foot extension and how that will look).

Since, T-Mobile has agreed to "replace" the existing light, I would assume that they are paying for it. Will that be a "deduct" from the overall stadium project? And will T-Mobile pay a yearly rental to NASD for use of this property for the cell phone tower, or will they not have to pay rent because they are paying to erect the light?

I thought the light posts were all replaced around 1999. Sitting at home I can't recall exactly where they are all located, but I thought it was behind the bleachers, not on the field or track area where the work was being done, which would mean they didn't need to be replaced at all (then again, neither do the sidewalks in front of the school).

I'd think a typical arrangement would be that the company would pay for the tower (it is their tower) and an annual rental fee (it is not their property).

The location is also kind of a surprise as it is one of the lower points in the borough. The auditorium towers over the stadium and all of it is at the bottom of the hill (travel up Center as you go west).
