The Morning Call has an article about the housing market (read it here) and a guide to the Lehigh Valley, which includes school and housing information (read it here). These two items are packed with useful information for those interested in knowing how the Nazareth area compares to any other in the Valley (more on that after number crunching is complete).
The article notes that housing sales fell, but sales prices increased throughout the Valley in July and stated, "At the same time, the number of homes that were sold fell year-over-year for the 14th consecutive month, according to statistics released by the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors."
Further, the article notes that, "The housing market in the Lehigh Valley has slowed this year, as the number of houses for sale has soared and the pool of prospective buyers has shrunk."
While this is not good for those selling, agents who rely on sales, or builders and contractors and those who supply them if development slows, it may be a reprieve for local districts struggling with enrollment increases and it could possibly help preserve some open space.
Should be interesting to see how this unfolds over the next year.
