The newly renovated Andrew S. Leh Stadium re-opened on Sunday with a ceremony and alumni games according to a report in the Express-Times (read the article here view photo here).
Two hundred people turned out for the re-opening to see the new artificial turf field built to specs that will allow Football, Field Hockey, Soccer, and Lacrosse to use it for competition.
The $1.7 million dollar project resulted in a widening of the field that rendered the track unusable for competition. A new synthetic track will be built west of the new Middle School building.
Today, Monday, August 13, is the start of the PIAA Fall Sports season and all teams (excepting Tennis and possibly golf as I recall traditionally starts one week early) will have their first day of practice. August 31 will be the first home football game against Pleasant Valley at 7:00 p.m. soccer opens on 9/1 (away) and field hockey on 9/4 (away).

Now that we have a new field and as a result have to build a new track bacause the old one was destroyed, is that cost already baked into the already high price tag for the new building or are we going to have yet another bill to pay?
