ABC News is going inside NASCAR with an exclusive and unparalleled look at the popular racing series on Wednesday's at 10:00 p.m. (read more about the program here). "NASCAR in Primetime" will speak of the sport from all aspects, along with the people currently participating and those, like Nazareth 12 year old Sage Karam, who has already made a name in racing, not wrestling (his father Jody is head wrestling coach at Liberty High School), circles.
Karam currently is a top go-kart driver and will be featured in a segment this evening explaining the long road to the NASCAR's elite series, the Nextel Cup.
With drivers like Juan Montoya and reportedly Dario Franchitti moving from open wheel to NASCAR, the challenges for young drivers to find a seat in the Cup series will only get harder. Best wishes to Sage in all his future endeavors.

Karem is a great kid and a dedicated racer, hats off to his father for all the support it takes to get this far. This is great that Nazareth is breeding great drivers for the next generation. We have another hometown young driver that is doing very well in skip barber, Corey Lewis. Look for him to make it to the big time. This kid has everything it takes to be a great racer. See some info about one of Coreys races here:

My wife and I stayed up to watch the show last night and I was surprised that so much time was given to Karam and the others in that series.
Juxtaposing Karam with Tony Stewart's comments about racing at that age made it feel like a flashback and put in perspective the fact that the gap from one place to the other was possible, but available to few.
I also thought they did a good job of showing that while racing at his level is serious, he is still a kid and with any sport or activity we sometimes forget that.
Overall I thought it was a positive and great portrayal of the family and I wish him continued success.
