The Nazareth Speedway is again up for sale after a deal between International Speedway Corporation and a local triumvirate of Ashley Development, Wind-Drift Real Estate, and Herrick Development Company fell through according to an article in the Express-Times (read it here).
ISC is hopeful a sale will take place over the next two years and is asking $19 million for the property.

We do not need 1400 more homes.
Please. It would ne nice to see
a park and trees. Something for
a community to enjoy.
My guess is the LNT Stuporvisors either didn't like the plans submitted or the "campaign contributions" were not large enough.
Either way, they have totally missed the boat.
The first plans put on the table a couple of years ago would have made LNT a destination for the entire Lehigh Valley.
But now, with the opening of the Promenade Shops, the shops at the Lehigh Valley Mall, and the pending lifestyle center going up in Bethlehm Township, there isn't a prayer that we will get anything close to that on the former race track.
If I were a betting person, my guess is we will either end up with a huge sprawl of home, or, in keeping with the LNT tradition, yet another truck terminal. Who knows, maybe we will get lucky and end up with a casino or horse track.
