An article from the Pennsylvania Wire on KDKA out of Pittsburgh reports on a Pennsylvania German Studies program at Kutztown University (read full release here).
The program includes history as well as culture and language. Nazareth native Edward Quinter, now of Allentown, teaches PA Dutch to students in a one room schoolhouse.
The article notes, "It's not easy to explain in English or Pennsylvania German, but, for the second year, there apparently has been a resurgence of interest, especially among the young, in the Mudderschprooch (mother tongue) of early Germans who settled in Pennsylvania, their culture, music, food, craftsmanship, art and architecture."
