Warehouse Opponents Cite Fumes

The Express-Times reports (read it here) that residents opposed to the proposed warehouse projects in Lower Nazareth are now contesting it based on exhaust and the danger it can cause to residents.

The next Supervisor's meeting is January 9 and the discussion is expected to continue at that time.

What the article did not indicate was that there were an angry bunch of attendants at this meeting because the Board did not and will not allow the community to have a voice as they desired. At the conclusion of the meeting the community members that attended expected the opportunity to speak publicly about concerns. We were shut down. The board said the community was given an opportunity at the last meeting but we explained that they never said we were only given ONE opportunity to speak. In fact we were led to believe there would be additional opportunities. As a community member who was not able to make it to the last meeting I did not have the opportunity to speak and address my concerns. If the board will not listen to the community who will????? IDI????

Home values in Nazareth will also suffer due to this warehouse; it won't just be Palmer Township. Sure the homes that border the warehouse are in Palmer but they are also Nazareth School District and if you look at how Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors determines values you will see they go by School District. When the home values drop because they border the IDI warehouse so will the average in Nazareth School District.

I'm not surprised the the LNT BOS shut down public comment. They typically only allow it when they know it will be in their favor. When they know if will be against them, you either get shut down completely or they break out the egg timer and give you no time to talk at all.

Alan Dilsaver, the leader of this junta, as a member of this community, should step down in disgrace, because that is what he is. All of the other supervisors should do the same.

If any of you are reading this, YOU WORK FOR THE RESIDENTS OF LNT, NOT YOURSELF. You are REQUIRED to listen to the citizens, otherwise, it is not government, but your own little dictatorship.

I have seen the BOS, the township manager, Tim Tenges, and the township solicitor, Gary Asteak, ridicule, berate and generally talk down to the citizens of LNT on a regular basis.

It would seem that their allegiance is to IDI and the other warehouse developers and not the citizens of LNT.

Could there possibly be a reason for this?
