Borough Council Reorganization Meeting

Reorganization Meeting

The reorganization meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Earl Keller.

The new Borough Council officials were sworn in, those being Dan Chiavaroli, Frank Maurek, Larry Stoudt, Michael Kopach and Thomas Heckman, for four year terms, and Charles Donello for a two-year term.

The Oath of Office was then conducted for Fire (Danny Keenhold, chief, Edward Statler, 1st Assistant Fire Chief, John Deutsch, 2nd Assistant Fire Chief) and Special Fire Police (John Gostony, Captain, Ray Fogel, 1st Lieutenant, and Larry Stoudt, Richard Herman, Scott Fogel, Linda Dech, Dave Myers, and David Powell).

Paul Kokolus then read/explained that the nomination for President would be accepted by the mayor and voted on as made with no second needed. Vote until there is a majority and it is over. Open as to whether or not you can vote for yourself.

With that the meeting was called to order by Mayor Keller who asked for nominations for Borough Council President.

  • Maurek nominated Chiavaroli, who was unanimously approved as President.
  • Rev. Matz nominated Stoudt for Vice President and he was approved 7-1 with Heckman casting the opposing vote.
  • Then Al Pierce was nominated and approved as solicitor, Justin Coyle as Borough Engineer, and Keller Inspections as Borough Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer.

Regional Planning, Watershed, and Solid Waste Commission have been inactive for three years and no appointments made as a result.


The reorganization committee was adjourned.
