Community Policing

Nazareth Police Chief Michael Sinclair outlined his plans for a community policing effort on Wednesday according to the Express-Times (read it here).

Sinclair's vision incorporates block watch programs, cops parking their cars and walking the streets and ending residents' reluctance to report small crimes or infractions.

"A lot of times people don't report things," Sinclair said. "We want to get the police involved with the community."

Chief Sinclair has mentioned this at different times during Council meetings and it is great to see the project moving forward.

The article notes, " Sinclair said anyone interested in helping out with the program or captaining a block watch can call police headquarters at 610-759-9575. He said the initiative should kick off in March."
