HS Bomb Threat

The HS is being evacuated for a bomb threat.

Important Notice (posted 1:05 pm): We are currently evacuating the high school due to a written bomb threat. All appropriate law enforcement and safety personnel have been notified. We strongly encourage parents NOT to pick up their son or daughter at this time. Students will be released to their parent or guardian. Parents will be notified if students are being dismissed early. The plan is to search the building and return the students as soon as possible. More information will follow.

I've been informed by a parent that the students are returning to the HS as of 1:45p.m.

this is getting ridiculous. coupled with the threats on firday i am sure everyone is aware of, i hope the detectives are on top of this. I think the kid(s) responsible for this should have to do some serious community service.

Just wondering what the rumors are and what administration is doing about them with regards to Friday? Anyone know? Personally I think it's all just rumor, but what if it's not?

From what I have heard from my kids, there will be quite a few extra police officers stationed at the schools on Friday.

As for whoever is posting the threats, community service is not enough at this point. Expulsion is a better method. It will send the right signal to those who may be thinking about doing it again. Community service is an easy out for them.

I understand a few of the threats have been left in the restrooms. Is it possable to station a teachers in the restrooms while classes are changing? If the threats are left during class, suspects should be able to be narrowed down by passes.

Just wondering if anyone is keeping their kids home on Friday 2/29?I see that the school has implemented some safety precautions but I am not at all comfortable with sending my child. This implied threat coupled with the 3 bomb scares has made me very nervous.

I have two children in the high school, neither one is the least bit concerned about the perceived threat. I think the media has taken a rumor and helped to blow it way out of proportion. That being said, there are letters from each one of the building principals and Dr. Lesky on the school district's website outlining the extra precautions that will be implemented on Friday.
My kids are, however, really starting to get annoyed with the bomb threats and having to evacuate to the middle school. They did say that the "evacuation" was handled much more smoothly this time around.

Against my better judment, I sent my KINDERGARTENER to school today. Obviously, I did not tell him about the happenings over the last few weeks. We cannot succumb to this behavior; if we do, "they" win. It's scary and it's unnecessary. As I stated in another post, the person(s) responsible for these threats need to be seriously punished. I don't think "community service" is enough.
