New Board Member

The Library Board of Directors welcomes Lower Nazareth Township resident Laurie Jordan who recently joined the Library Board, replacing Tara Capecci who has served as President of the Board since 2003.

Library Launches Second Digital Project

In April the newly digitized version of the first 15 years of the local newspaper The Nazareth Item, will be available on the Pennsylvania Digital Repository. The years 1891-1917 were digitized by the OCLC Preservation Center in Bethlehem. 2008-09 State Funding

For the 4th year in a row the Governor’s proposed budget includes inadequate increases for Pennsylvania’s public libraries. At the rate proposed the state library funding formula will not be run and libraries can expect once again to lose thousands of dollars in state aid. Librarians and Library Boards across the state will be contacting local municipal officials to ask them to contact their Harrisburg delegations to support full state aid for libraries.

National Library Week April 13-19, 2008

Stop by the Library and join the circle of knowledge. We are the place to go to dream, explore, learn and grow! Events planned include:

  • April 16th at 6:30 pm Pa One Book program featuring reading of Up down and around by Katherine Ayers. Each child attending the program will receive a copy of the book.
  • April 17th at 4pm 5th annual Young Writers Contest Winners Reception

Library Director Leaving

Library Director Lynn Snodgrass-Pilla, will leave to pursue other interests June 1st. Lynn has been the Director since 1999.
