LN Crime Watch

Received this note recently from a reader and congratulations to those in LN who have gotten engaged. I know in the Borough of Nazareth Chief Sinclair is trying to start the same.

The LNT Neighborhood Crime Watch is off to a good start. The Groups goal for 2008 of organizing two "Sectors" is on track. We currently have a membership of 45 households, and two of four "Sectors" organized. I anticipate that number will double before the end of April. This covers about 1/2 of the township. At the bottom of this message I will give you information to pass on to your readership on how to become a member of the LNT Neighborhood Crime Watch.

The lNT Neighborhood Crime Watch members have been kept abreast of the incidents outline below for several days now through this program.......However, since the lNT Neighborhood Crime Watch Program can only reach its current membership, your web site would be an excellent forum to pass on this advisory. Thank you for your help.

The following is part of an important advisory I Email to our membership:

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY REPORTED IN THE TOWNSHIP BY COLONIAL REGIONAL POLICE DEPARTMENT

MULTIPLE VEHICLE BREAK-IN'S REPORTED TO THE CRPD FROM LNT HOMEOWNERS

It is understood how our world and our need for increased security has changed us all. Crime of any kind cannot be tolerated in a society of laws and order. It is a real shame though that now citizens must band together to quasi-police our neighborhoods. The drum-beat to Orwell's "1984" beats on. The price of freedom is vigilance and the cost of being American continues upward

I for one am glad to see that at least NOC is willing to print when crime occurs in the Nazareth area.

As has been the case more often than not, we only find out about the crimes second hand. A neighbors house was broken into a few weeks back, but never was there a word in any of the local papers to that effect.

For to long there has been a "code of silence" about crime in this area.

The sooner we face the fact that it is here, the more informed we keep the population, the better we as a community will be able to make our area an unwanted stop for criminals.
