New Football Coach

Nazareth HS hired former Freedom and Parkland football head coach Rob Melosky at a board meeting on Monday night.

Both the Express-Times (read it here) and Morning Call (read it here) report.

This will not turn out well. I cannot believe that this was the best of an alleged crop of 17 coaches.

Does out athletic director and committee have their collective heads in the sand or do they just not care that trouble follows this individual wherever he goes.

Who gets relieved of the coaching AND assistant athletic director duties two years after winning a PIAA Class 4A state title?

What about his post-Parkland incidents - some of which were played out publicly and others that happened behing closed doors.

None of this stuff is secret. How could we not have known?

Never mind, it will eb okay because Bob Holland "liked his enthusiasm" and Alan Davis "Checked it out and the explanation he provided to our committee was satisfactory."

This isn't Dave Crowell or Ray Nunamaker here.

More like Isaiah Thomas or Alabama's Mike Price.

Even Northampton, his home school, wouldn't consider him for the job.
His reputation preceeds him. The school board sure had their heads in the sand on this one. Of course, I guess the main blame would have to go to the administration that recommended him.....they just pull the strings of their puppets. Sad....very sad!

Check out the football coach we just hired (and possible gym teacher). Every Nazareth resident should read this.
