It appears that Memorial Day 2008 will be a beautiful day with lots of sun and warm weather. A great time to spend with family and friends, grilling outside and playing games with the kids.
Be sure to take a moment or two to remember and give thanks to those who gave their lives in service to our country.
The decision to serve is life-changing and time-honored. Young men and women dedicate themselves to serving our country and fighting for freedom. For many it is an experience that provides invaluable learning and skill development that will be utilized for the rest of one's life. For a few, it brings with it the ultimate sacrifice - one's life given for one's country.
While we honor and appreciate those who serve and have served, today is a day dedicated to remembering those who lost their life in service to our country. God bless them all.

It's a shame that during the Memorial Day Ceremonies at the ball field on Center, Green and Church Streets, a Nazareth resident with a vested interest in the Nazareth downtown revitalization project did not have enough respect for the ceremony to cease his use of power tools. The lack of respect took place in the persons garage 100 feet from the Ceremony and soldiers. Truly what is this person intent for the betterment of Nazareth.
I HEARD THIS FROM MORE THAN "NATIVE NAZARETH CITIZEN".
