My favorite quote in this article:
'This gives us some breathing room,'' Butz said. ''We don't want to put blinders on ourselves.''And let's remember, prior to deciding which building to build, the Board was aware that under current circumstances we'd be facing budget shortfalls. Knowing that, they selected the most expensive option on the table - a new MS and then decided to include every option including a pool putting the tab for the building at $60M. Since then they've acknowledged underestimating the annual cost to run the building by 50%, they've requested a $1M for a road to complete the campus feel so desired, and now we learn they are spending more money to upgrade locker rooms.
The blinders seem to come to them by way of the options being presented by this administration. Restricted choice is a blinder in and of itself. Sad thing is, they don't see it.

A slate of fiscal conservatives is needed. Who is up and in what districts? I know Marino, a lump on the Board, is up in 2009. We must make a concerted effort to stop this nonsense. Then one of the first tasks is to remove Lesky. Also do we have any numbers pertaining to spending per studnet and test scores and I don't just mean SAT's. Gunther had info from the Libertarian party that shows that scores go down while spending goes up. We also need to emphasize that our children are being trained to be worker bees not educated in the real sense of the word.

what you say is totally true. the main problem you will have is this.. NO ONE will run for these positions. Do you want to be the one who raises taxes? cuts jobs? is seen as an evil person.. because thats what your applying for.. And of course it is of no fault of yours, but the person your replacing, but people dont see things like that. There are tons of local business owners in the area who have been asked to be on the board and not one will touch it with a 10 foot stick, fearing for lack of business.
We can argue all we want on here. People can say what they want, but our quiet community is in serious trouble. I talk to alot of people outside the area, and they really shake there heads and laugh when Nazareth comes up. Times are really tough right now for alot of people. $4.00 for gas, the cost of food is soaring, basically everything is in a downfall. People are pi**ed and rightfully so.
