Physician Served in Iraq from Bushkill

The Morning Call has a story about Bushkill Township resident Dr. Paul Bisio, who served as a doctor in a trauma unit in Iraq (read the story here).

The story not only depicts life at the hospital in Iraq, but notes how profoundly the experience impacted Dr. Bisio. He explains how it made him rethink medical practices as they exist today and as a result he opened a new practice in Forks Township called Urgent Care where people can come without an appointment.

Since the first Gulf War our Guard and Reserves have been regularly called upon to serve in combat areas. Since that point in time, the men and women who sign up do so knowing there is a reasonable expectation they will have to serve in a combat area. Despite that, they sign-up and serve our country putting themselves in danger so others can be safe.

Keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and do what you can to honor and support them for without them what kind of world would we live in?

Dr. Bisio is a wonderful doctor of whom I have recommended highly to others. We hit it off immediately speaking of is experiences because my bother in law is 82nd Airborne career-about to retire, but my point is he (Dr Bisio) was so focused on my care. I had been suffering from a really bad ear infection for many months. I had a a functioning E-tube in one ear for the past 12 years, but this wasn't the affected ear. I informed him of my radical (but successful until that recent incident) sinus surgery. He treated me with the best of care and we developed a positive relationship. i knew that if I did not improve he had all of the documentation nec. to follow through to the next step which was possibly another surgery by an ENT. My infection did clear through trial and error, but without surgery. I was thrilled with his care and will rec. him to anone who might ask.

I apologize for the spelling errors-my laptop is suffering from spring/summer fever I fear! I continue to stand by my statements. Dr. Bisio is the best!
