Received this note from the Ohrwashel's regarding the Make A Wish Book Sale Fundraiser:
The book sale was incredible! Total raised for Make-A-Wish over the weekend was $2779! We are very pleased with having topped our last years total! All of us worked very hard and we had some great help from friends and neighbors.
We are not done yet though! We have given ourselves a new goal of $3400 and hope to raise the additional $621 to reach this goal through a September adult fiction sale and a couple of addition plans we have in the works. We think we will make it! $3400 is an important number because this is the amount of money needed to make a child's wish come true and be considered a "wish maker". So, our adult fiction books are still set up in the garage and if you want to shop before the September sale, just stop by. We are not taking any more book donations this year.
As far as the other unsold books, we have already donated quite a few to the Good Shepard (mainly the non-fiction adult things) and elementary schools. We have a day-care center that is interested in purchasing a large number of children's books from us and we are negotiating that. Other children books will be donated to Kidspeace, a foster care program here in PA, and given to the foster care children.
Thank you to all of you who donated books, shopped, lent us tarps, tables, tents, etc, and helped at the sale. Support was incredible, and I am so happy that we can help a child have their special wish!
