The press release issued by PA American Water stated the boil water advisory was 'until further notice' (read it here).
I visited the PA American Water web site, nothing new since the advisory was issued.
I visited the Nazareth Borough web site and found nothing. One person told me there was a scrolling message, but I couldn't see it (maybe it wasn't configured for Firefox).
I called PA American Water this morning and spoke with Priscella and learned it is still in effect. I asked when it will be lifted and she said it didn't say, but they will alert the media when it is.
For all the hype surrounding the announcement, it seems follow-up should be added to the response plan.

It's not a scroll. It's right under where it says "WELCOME TO THE BOROUGH OF NAZARETH'S WEBSITE." in red letters.
Hi Ross - I agree, PAWC has done a terrible job with the follow-up or continuing communication of this event.
I'm in charge of client services for a local IT hosting company - and it's our job as a service provider to keep our clients constantly updated in the event of an issue - especially an issue such as this.
Thanks!
The bad thing about this is that the local eateries are still selling Coffee and tea (some even soda and other things) from the tap. The machines, if connected to the residential water system, should be shut off. After the event the filters should be changed. The coffee machines that have to be poured in are OK if you use boiled water (1 min or more) or you use bottled water. Even coffee at home the machine is not hot enough or boiled long enough to "kill" the baddies. These warnings must be more specific or at least the people in charge have to be more educated. BOIL means BOIL, not heat.
This is a public health issue, right. And clean water is a necessity. To me this isn't being taken very serious. It's now three days and all they are putting out is vague statements. Come on.
Do you think they'll cut us some slack on next months bill in return for all the bottled water we purchased. I doubt it.
Oh please. Why would they cut you some slack for something they did not sell you? Besides, if you don't get water then you won't be billed for sewer use. Isn't that bill based on your water consumption? If you are so worried about paying for water, you could have gone to one of the water company's distribution centers and received free water.
Sounds like it doesn't bother you.
Even though it's not something I have purchased it is something they agreed to supply. And if there's a problem with the supply, then there should be better PR as to what is happening.
The point is, I just think we deserve to know whats going on.
