I just received a call from Easton Suburban Water (a company I don't receive service from) indicating that my phone number is affiliated with a customer in their service area and that the boil water advisory has been lifted.
Based on receiving these calls and comments posted on the previous post, this company clearly has some issues with its call system since it notified non-customers and failed to notify all of its actual customers about a boil water advisory.
For the sake of public safety, let's hope they fix it.

Only figures, I am a customer and was affected. I only found out this morning when watching WFMZ. They never called my home.
Good thing this wasn't a real emergency!
The exact same thing happened to me. When I called to complain today, I was told (curtly) that they had 3000 customers that did not receive notification because they did not have our phone numbers. How hard would it be to add a request for that information to the bill so that they could get it. I have been a customer for over 6 years! And they didn't have my phone number??
an update,
I did get a call yesterday to say the boil advisory was lifted.
Somehow they found my phone number since then?
