Service Duty over Diploma

Ed Bajan, a former WWII veteran, who left school to fight in 1944, a year before finishing high school, was recognized and awarded with a HS diploma this week at Nazareth. The diploma was awarded through a program enacted in 2001 called Operation Recognition. The program was designed to provide a diploma as a result of life experience for those veterans who served in war instead of finishing HS (read the article in the Express-Times here).

Bajan returned to Nazareth after the war and ran the family business on East Lawn Road, before retiring a few years ago.
