Library Vandals Caught?

The Express-Times reports that Nazareth Police believe they have caught the individuals who vandalized the library at the end of 2008 (read the article here).

The three teens were from Bushkill, Upper Nazareth, and Gillette. In addition to charges they face for the library, additional charges are pending for at least six vehicle thefts.

Let's hope in addition to penalties they may face, these individuals are required to pay to replace and repair all damage at the library as well.

Ross--
Lets hope that they are made an example of. Damages, Community Service, and whatever else viable. A loud and clear message needs to be sent to our community that this is unacceptable. Make an example of one group, the rest will follow, knowing the consequences if they get caught.

What will probably happen--- one of the kids dads will know someone, who knows someone and they will get a 85 dollar fine, no other punishment and the library will be told to clean the mess up at the taxpayer dollar.

The new Nazareth, suburb of NYC.. aint it great !

Ryan,

I sure hope if it comes out that the vandals are long time residents of Nazareth you publish an apology on this space.

I grew up in this area, and quite frankly, am sick an tired of all the blame for our areas woes being placed on people who moved here from another state, specifically NY and NJ.

If you have paid attention in the past, the vast majority of the crime in this area has been committed by families that have lived in Nazareth for generations.

You have good and bad, both native and immigrant. Face the fact that people moved here from other places and in most cases are productive members of our community.

Or, you can keep the narrow minded view that all "outsiders" are bad and continue to alienate those around you.

I dont recall blaming any outsiders for doing this.. If you could read, i simply said that with all the graffitti Nazareth has started to resemble New York City. And it has. Your entitled to your opinion as i am to mine.
