Multi-Agency Rescue Drill at Essroc Nazareth Plant
NAZARETH, PA, June 17, 2009 – On June 20th Essroc will conduct a multi-Agency rescue drill at its Nazareth cement plant off Route 248, known as Plant 1. Fire Rescue engines and EMS crews from Hecktown, Nazareth, Palmer and Bethlehem Township will stage a simulated vehicle explosion resulting in an entrapped driver and will perform a high level rescue off one of the coal silos.
The drill will start at about 7:15 a.m. when all units will deploy in the Giant Shopping Center and will continue through early morning hours. It is designed to give rescue agencies in the area an opportunity to survey and familiarize themselves with the Essroc property, and to assess the efficiency of their intervention in a real situation.

Thank you for posting this announcement. We are concerned that comes Saturday morning residents may fear that something bad happened at our plant: this will help.
