School Board Meeting

Thanks to the reader that forwarded along the following from the School Board meeting:

After signing the transportation contract with Jennings last week(6/15) to include the NAIS, Jennings transportation sent a representative to the board tonight and addressed them during Public Comment on the Agenda. They wanted to reopen the contract to get fuel reimbursements from the district. After the representative was done speaking Lorin Bradley and Tom Maher both addressed the situation.

Later in the meeting in section 8 Lorin Bradley made a motion to approve the item's listed and to add item "G" which read " The current contract with Jennings Transportation will not be extended and or revised without a formal RFP process. Tom Maher second this motion. After a brief discussion the board unanimously decided to approve the motion to include item "G". Note, Linda McDonald, John Marino, and David Hensley were absent.

So in conclusion the contract with Jennings Transportation is to include all NASD schools until the end of school year 2011-12. After that year the contract is to be put out for a formal RFP process.
