Weekly Blogosphere Round-Up

Andy’s Fan Page was continuing to track the non-progress in Harrisburg regarding the budget, glad to see the Little League World Series, and excited about the return of the Big Ticket on channel 69.  Have to thank Andy for noting a few of my NOC posts.

Breakfast in the Valley visited Izzy’s in Allentown.

Clonehenge continues to present henge replicas from around the world, my favorite this week – candy corn henge.

From House to Home has plugged back in following a summer blog-break and re-capped what she’d been up to while offline.

Steaming Cup of Joe has several articles on newspaperman turned marine Bill Cahir, who died recently in Afghanistan. Cahir was a political correspondent for the Express-Times and left the newspaper following 9-11 at the age of 34 to join the Marines.  He was on his third tour of duty when he was killed.  He is survived by his wife who is expecting twin girls.

Lehigh Valley Ramblings is guaranteed to have a full slate of stories from across the region.  This week there were many on County issues (pretty common for Bernie), a few from Lehigh County, and a disturbing few from Easton about an LA based gang, the hoover crips, who have moved into the area, which apparently was traditionally controlled by Bloods.  The gangs typically come in to recruit kids to become dealers.  While LA based, the member moving into Easton are from Orange and Newark NJ.  Clearly something for the police to eradicate immediately.

Tatamy Happenings has some posts on the library issue based on feedback received and information from the borough on reimbursements to residents.

Weird Nazareth has two posts on ghosts, but I have to admit, I didn’t see them in the pictures.  They also announced a new blog for do it yourselfers – maker diaries – thanks guys and girls, another site for me to check out each week!

Maker Diaries – did you hear there is a new site out there for do it yourselfers, brought to you by the folks at Weird Nazareth?  Just launched, you can see a 4th of July cake, the construction of an adult soap box derby car, and how to screen print your own Weird Nazareth T-shirt.  Contributions are being encouraged so go photograph your latest project, write it up, and send it in.
