Andy sure was busy this week, and he took me to task for not having the round-up posted yet;-) Lots of football games and scores posted on Friday and Saturday and I’m sure more as NFL gets fully under way today. He also had a nice remembrance for all of those who lost their lives in NY, PA, and DC/VA on 9/11.
I had no idea so many people made clonehenges, until reading Clonehenge. This week there were replicas made of butter, polystyrene, straw, and one announced on Craigslist, and displayed in a front yard in Austin made of styrofoam.
Healthcare and Glenn Beck have the Steaming Cup, steaming. Joe Owens is good with the notion that all people should have healthcare, but is finding it difficult to believe that the government will have the most cost-efficient solution able to provide the level of service Americans desire. Additionally, he appears to be a bit fed up with the numerous folks on TV, Radio, and Touring who rally the troops for whatever cause they favor.
Which of the myriad of topics of Bernies should I recap? Lehigh Valley Ramblings is local, but diverse. I’m not surprised to see a few posts on Allentown Mayoral candidate Tony Phillips, some Northampton County pieces, including one that notes over 700 homes are up for sale by the county for failure to pay taxes and the county is ‘working on’ notifying the homeowners prior to the sale. There are few posts on the budget debacle in Harrisburg and some on 9/11.
Maker Diaries has a show down between the new Hobby Lobby and Michaels. For those do it yourselfers, there is a new option, closer to home (for those in Nazareth), but is it better? That is what the folks at Maker Diaries examined.
Tatamy Happenings has a very good recap of the latest Council meeting. Making me feel guilty for not getting to more of those taking place in Nazareth.
Weird Nazareth has a great photo of tree resembling a pig and provided photos of a hot air balloon that touched down in the school parking lot on Monday. Not sure how we missed that one being so close ourselves, but we did. Nice pictures!
So there you have it, the local sites that were active this week. If you know of others that blog from or about Nazareth, let me know!

After reading the Tatamy Blog, which indicated that Tatamy is not allowed to join the Nazareth Library as per the Pennsylvania Library Code, maybe you could print a retraction on the Good Citizenship and the Little Red Hen post in which you condemned the residents of Tatamy.
Tatamy continues to take advantage of the system, and if every community acted this way, the library system would fail.
No retraction necessary. All along I stated the money was not to join the Nazareth Library, it was to join Easton which would then give them the ability to use any library, including Nazareth.
So the State Library Code says Tatamy is NOT PERMITTED BY LAW to join the library and you feel that any use of the Nazareth library should be viewed as taking advantage of the system? Your reasoning is irrational and borders on bigotry.
This will be my last post on this subject.
Anonymous - don't sweat it. Ross is entitled to his opinion. Differences of opinion are what makes all of us unique - imagine how boring it would be if we all had the same ideas.
Regarding the support of a library - the citizens of the Borough of Tatamy have voiced their opinion of the whole library situation more than once. Unfortunately the circumstances are what they are, and for now anyway, the citizens are happy with what they have. You can't draw blood from a stone, there's no money left and that's that. Moving on . . .
Ross - maybe your guilt will encourage you (and others) to attend and participate in the public meetings in your communities. Citizen attendance, and perhaps more importantly PARTICIPATION in these meetings is perhaps the best way that we elected officials know what the folks we were elected to represent want us to do. There's nothing worse than trying to make decisions in a vacuum, only to hear about it later (usually it's why did you do that??) once all is said and done.
Hold on there a moment Anon. Perhaps you are missing what Ross is saying. He said that Tatamy residents can join the state-wide system of libraries by joining Easton's library. That will get them (the residents of Tatamy) the Access Pennsylvania stamp which does let them use any library in the Commonweatlh. (It also allows you to download audio books and a whole host of other features.)
So either you A) Got your dander up and didn't take the time to read Ross's reply, or B) you chose to be willfully ignorant. Maybe you would like to print a retraction?
