The Nazareth Borough Council is exploring potential partnership with Nazareth YMCA regarding the operation of the Borough Pool according to an article in the Express-Times (read it here).
The pool has lost money each year and the intent is to find ways to generate additional revenue or operate it more cost effectively.

Years ago, the Y managed the Boro pool. I can't remember why that changed. It would make sense for the two entities to work together and pool their resources (pun intended!)
Perhaps the reason it is losing money is because families that are used to a higher end of living are moving in. If you ask me, the pool membership is pricey if you don't live in the borough (which is unfair) for what you're getting. If you're going to pay the high membership fee, the grass should be taken care of, plenty of lounge chairs should be available, and the pool should be landscaped or made to look more appealing and clean.
