Dear Friends of the Theatre,

Since the Summer of 2005 Insomniak Theatre Company has been offering professional quality productions to Nazareth and the surrounding Lehigh Valley.  In 2006 Insomniak became an official non-profit corporation and has spent much of the past three years reaching out to the theatre community of the Lehigh Valley having been privileged to work with some of the most dedicated artists in the immediate area.  Not only have our artists been dedicated in making this company expand, but our community has contributed much enthusiasm and support by attending our innovative events.

We’d like to formerly invite you, friends and family to become part of that community.

To kick off the New Year we are currently preparing to illuminate an American Contemporary classic, suitable for all ages.  In 1981, Beth Henley received both the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best American Play with her most popular piece Crimes of the Heart

In this play, three sisters with quite different personalities and lives reunite when the youngest of them, Babe, has shot her abusive husband. The oldest sister, Lenny, takes care of their grandfather and is turning into an old maid, while Meg, who tries to make it in Hollywood as a singer/actress, has had a wild life filled with many men. The trio was raised in a dysfunctional family with a penchant for ugly predicaments and each has endured her share of hardship and misery. Past resentments bubble to the surface as they're forced to deal with assorted relatives and past relationships while coping with the latest incident that has disrupted their lives. Each sister is forced to face the consequences of the "crimes of the heart" she has committed.

By using costumes, props and set pieces from the 1970s, an accurate Hazlehurst dialect, and music by classic 60s & 70s artists (such as Cass Elliot, Laura Nyro, Linda Ronstadt, and Leslie Gore) Insomniak will be bringing this story to life in our 70 seat, intimate theatre, that will allow the emotions these characters let out shower over the audience- causing them to feel as if they are part of this family.

The cast includes Insomniak veterans Jen Santos (as Babe), Nicole Brousseau (as Lenny), Laura Romano (as Meg), Matthew Meckes (as Barnette), Gabrielle Grube (as Chick) and newcomer Ettore Cerino (as Doc).

Production dates are January 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd @ 8pm

January 17th & 24th @ 2pm

Admission is $15 per person/ $12 for students and seniors

We hope you are able to share the magic of theatre with us!

                                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                                Charles Weigold, III
