NAIS Solar Panels

PV-Tech.org has an article on the state’s program to fund solar panel technology, which includes the NAIS grant that was recently awarded (read the article here).

The article notes:

The Commonwealth Financing Authority, which approved the projects, administers Pennsylvania's economic stimulus programs, including portions of the $650 million Alternative Energy Investment Fund that the governor signed into law in 2008.

There were 7 grants in addition to the one Nazareth received.

Regarding the Nazareth grant the article states that total project cost is $2.4M, the grant is for $966,000, and the school will save nearly $93,000 per year.

That is awesome. Even more awesome would be bringing alt energy into the classroom with a panel maintained and operated by the students.
