Solar Farm to be Planted Soon

The Express-Times reports that the NASD will soon have a solar farm under construction at the Intermediate School off Tatamy Road (read the article here).

While the project in Lower Nazareth has been held up due to resident’s concerns, the one in Upper is ready to proceed.

Both projects will cost approximately $3 million dollars. The school got a grant for close to $1M and will save 50% on electricity at each location. The private energy generation facility will operate on school grounds funded in large part by the taxpayers. It will be interesting to see what precedent this type of public-private arrangement sets for the future.
