A reader forwarded to me two pieces of information. One, about a workshop taking place on March 5 for current and prospective school board candidates, and two, information on local seats that are going to be up this year. Both are below.
In 2007, I offered a “Resident to Candidate” program featuring two elected officials and the chairs of both the Republican and Democratic parties in Northampton County. It was a free program and about 40 people showed up. While I don’t have updated information. I did create a page on my web site today where you can download the program notes I used and listen to audio. The audio is sometimes tough to hear, but if you have earbuds or headphones you should be good. The first part is about 10 minutes, and the other two are about twenty a piece.
Here are the two notes:
Candidates for School Board can begin circulating their petitions on February 15 and can pick them up from the County approximately one week before that date. They must file their petitions by 4:30 p.m. on March 8, 2011 at the Northampton County Election Bureau.

Thanks for the info. Are you going to redo your seminar?
Sorry, I don't have the capacity right now to put it together and to present it.
The content in the discussion really only changes with regard to dates. What an individual has to do and ways they can go about doing it really haven't changed that much.
Now you could argue as a candidate there are more online means (social media wasn't really in play then).
The dates and timelines should all be on the county site.
