There is a letter to the editor in the Express-Times that deserves mentioning.
Harry Adams, for the past 15 years, has helped make the Memorial Garden at Shafer Elementary a special place. He sent a letter to the editor and, as expected from his generation, thanked everyone and made little to no mention of himself.
This year, my daughter was asked to speak at the ceremony. I’m pretty sure Harry was the guy I listened to and approached afterward and thanked. He was a great guy with a great message, and I want to thank him for his dedication, service, and continued vigilance.
