LV Traffic Snarl

On Tuesday, I experienced the worst traffic in the Lehigh Valley that I can remember.

As it turns out, according to the Express-Times, it started at 3:57 a.m. that morning when a vehicle driven by an UNT resident was travelling east on the westbound lanes of Route 78 and collided with a tractor trailer (read the article here).

The passenger of the vehicle was ejected and died on the scene, while both drivers were taken to local hospitals.

Going to work and returning on a planned half-day, I can say the road remained closed after noon and resulted in gridlock as route 78 was shut down in both directions (a four car incident going east bound with one lane construction ensured it), traffic from 78 diverted to 22 caused more gridlock as the traffic was more than the road could handle.
