An Evening of Poetry in Nazareth featuring Barbara Crooker and Edwin Romond

BARBARA CROOKER is the author of three books of poetry, Radiance, which won the Word Press First Book Award and was a finalist for The Paterson Poetry Prize, Line Dance, which won the Paterson Award for Literary Excellence, and More (C&R Press, 2010) She is the recipient of three Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowships in Literature, the 2003 Thomas Merton Poetry of the Sacred Award, the 2004 WB Yeats Society Prize, and the 2006 Rosebud Ekphrastic Poetry Award. A twenty-eight time nominee for the Pushcart Prize and five time nominee for Best of the Net, she was a 1997 Grammy Awards Finalist for her part in the audio version of the popular anthology, Grow Old Along With Me--The Best is Yet to Be (Papier Mache Press). Crooker is the mother of a 27 year old son with autism with whom she was featured recently on the PBS show "Need to Know" on the lack of services for adults with autism. Recently, she read in the

EDWIN ROMOND’s most recent collection of poetry is Alone with Love Songs (Grayson Books). He has been awarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and from both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Arts Councils. In addition to his poetry Romond has written two musical plays and his first short story, “His Roy Sievers Glove,” will be published in the next issue of Spitball Magazine, a baseball journal in Cincinnati. He was a public school English teacher for 32 years and presently works in the poetry division of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Morristown, NJ

Family show at 3:00 for children and adults featuring storyteller Tina Fowler, followed by an adult and teen show at 7:30 with storytellers Eva Grayzel and Larry Sceurman, presented by the Center and the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild.

A matinee performance by guitar students of Heath Hitchcock. Heath is a member of the PA Classic Guitar Quintent and will be performing with them for a holiday performance on Sunday, December 11 and he will have a solo show on Sunday, November 27, both at 3:00 p.m.
