600 Friends for Thanksgiving!?!

The Nazareth YMCA has a goal of gathering 600 'friends and family' for its second annual Pumpkin Pie 5K and Fun Walk on Thanksgiving Day according to an article in the Express-Times (read it here).

According to the article:
Registration opens 7:30 a.m. at the YMCA, 33 S. Main St. The race kicks off at 9 a.m. from Center Square.

"Our goal is to get 600 people. We had 400 last year. Right now we're approaching 300," Janis said. "We also have a lot of sponsors this year."

Registration costs $30, which also entitles racers and walkers to receive T-shirts.

Dogs can get into the act by wearing costumes. They'll only be permitted on the walk, which takes a different route than the 5k (3.14-mile) run.
