Custody Battle Turns Deadly
According to both the Express-Times (read it here) and the Morning Call (read it here), a custody battle and violation of a Protection From Abuse led a man to abduct his 9 year old child from the 400 block of Union Street (south-east part of town between Franklin and South New Streets) in Nazareth at 7:45 p.m. on Sunday. The man was chased over 40 miles to Monroe County where he had a shoot-out with police leaving him and one state trooper dead. The child was apparently unharmed.
