Side Walk Sales and Block Party Kick Off Nazareth Days Weekend

The Nazareth Day Weekend kicked off early with Sidewalk Sales (beginning Wednesday) followed by the Block Party on Friday.

A great crowd turned out for the Block Party and many community groups and organizations participated providing a wide range of food and treats. My hat is off to all those working grills. While it wasn't unbearable to be out it was hot and those folks were working.

Music was played from both ends of Belvidere with a DJ at the intersection of Broad and a band at Main.

While I spent a fair amount of time talking to people and leaving cards about the "Let's Go To Bennigan's Promotion" my kids had a blast. My older daughter had a chance to see some of her school friends she hadn't seen in a while, and she even got to work the band's lightboard for a while. My younger daughter danced and danced with her friend from school. Of course this meant I had to carry her home when we left just after 10 p.m.

All-in-all a wonderful event and a great way to get people together.

My apologies for not having any photos. By the time I remembered to try to get some it was too dark and I got nothing but dark shapes with an evening sky. Oh well, I'll try to think about taking them earlier next time.

Enjoy Nazareth Day today and the fireworks!
