Borough Park Pool 70th Anniversary

Arlene Martinez of the Morning Call wrote a nice piece titled, "Nazareth's Pool of Memories" (read it here) on the 70th anniversary of the Park Pool.

A Works Progress Administration (WPA) project, it was built for $62,000 during the depression as a means to provide work. It is one of the largest pools in the area.

The article's nostalgia was fueled by Ray Christman and John Hoch, both well-known residents, who once served as lifeguards at the pool.

For me, I spent most summer days at the pool as a kid with my father and brother and later he would drop us off and we'd spend the day, based on the article, as everyone else did - enjoying the sun, cooling water, and company.

What are your favorite memories of the Nazareth Borough Park Pool? And, considering the recreation money available to Council, what improvements would you like to see to make it even better?
